FUN ARCHIVES Remember to be silly with your children! It's April's Fool Day and you need to prank your children... it's the language that they love! It doesn't have ot be mean spirited or anything like that, simply be a little bit silly. Pretend to walk out the door in your jammies and coat! Serve them dinner for breakfast... or make some sort of silly food with some food coloring! Your children will be delighted with your foolish hearted fun and they WILL remember it... it's the stuff that family memories are made of! When it gets nice out and everyone has spring fever, I pack up the kids, a few trash bags and a picnic lunch. Then we go on down to the local park or wildlife area. I give each of my kids a trash bag and a few tools/gloves and we do on a trash gather. I have a few little goodies from the dollar store as prizes and everyone runs around in the good sunshine and when we're done, we feel good about helping Mother Nature with a little spring cleaning and we have a picnic lunch. We talk about many hands making light work and we've had perfect strangers join in and help. I like showing my kids that we can have fun while helping out the community. Submitted By: Alexandra V. Encourage everyone to bring a newbie family with them and make sure to invite plenty of veteran families, too. While the children are all playing, it's a great time to sit and chat with new parents contemplating homeschooling and it's not so formal as a meeting or a field trip. And it's a great chance for the kids to get together and enjoy each other too! Submitted By: Sherri C. For each hour of educational software that is played, my sons earn half an hour to play their favorite free time games! Works for us! Submitted By: Cheryl P. Visit her favorite site at: www.ask.com
Involve your children in as much LIVE music as possible. When they actually see people, average people, playing and enjoying any number of instruments or musical styles, it really means SO much more to them, then just hearing CDs or music on the radio. Especially when they see other kids playing music live. There is nothing better than to spark the musician within by this wonderful example. Lots of communities have jams, or concerts in the park for free, or even sing-alongs, or any sort of live music is GREAT! Submitted By: Sherri Chekal Visit her site at: www.BuckeyeBluegrass.com
